Welcome to British Yarn

We’re so excited about UK Knit Camp 2010 and Ravelry Weekend, which will be taking place at the glorious University of Stirling, Scotland, between 9th and 14th August 2010. The campus is located in central Scotland, about an hour each way to Glasgow and Edinburgh and has excellent public transport links.

We’ve lined up some of the best tutors in the world-  including Norah Gaughan, Jared Flood and Ysolda Teague - to teach pretty much every aspect of yarncrafts.  Classes will cover everything from spinning, dyeing, weaving, machine knitting, crochet and lots of different aspects of knitting, and at all levels from complete beginner to advanced crafters.  We truly believe there is a class for everyone.

Along with the week’s classes, we have arranged some excursions to local places of interest including the New Lanark Mill, Famous Grouse Experience, and the stunning Loch Katrine (which inspired Sir Walter Scott’s Lady of the Lake).  There are also plenty of extra-curricular events taking place on campus, such as spinning evenings, mini workshops and yoga.

The Ravelry weekend will star the entire Ravelry team, will feature a marketplace full of handpicked top vendors, talks, parties, a ceilidh, a knitting walk of fame and many more fun activities besides.  The Knitted Poem will also be making an appearance too!

We look forward to welcoming you to Knit Camp 2010.  Let the inspiration begin!
