Knitting Nature: Polygon knittingTake a journey with Norah as she guides you through her inspiration for her book, Knitting Nature. In the morning she will give a lecture describing how she approached designing the book and will talk about how natural shapes and textures inspired her projects. She will then take questions from you in a Q&A session. In the afternoon, you will work on two small projects based on the Spiral Scarf and the Basalt tank - one seamless and one knit flat and seamed. You can attend the lecture only, but if you wish to take the afternoon project class you must also attend the morning lecture. Pieced knittingFocusing on two of Norah’s designs, Astrid and Strawberry Hill, you will learn how to knit two different motifs and two completely different ways of joining motifs. My WayWhile Norah believes that there is no one right way to do almost anything, especially in knitting, she will teach you the little things she does when knitting and designing. From tricks to winding a ball, knitting on and placing decreases to tips on cable needles, binding off smoothly, and sewing in a sleeve cap. Innovative CablesLearn how to knit cables with unusual constructions. Mastering a few new tricks opens up the possibilities for a myriad of new and unusual cables, knit with ribs, mini-cables and lace and more. You’ll leave wanting to make up your cable variations.
