Debbie Tomkies

A published designer since her early teens, Debbie has 20 years dyeing, designing and knitting experience to share with her students. She is the author of Hand-dyed Yarn Craft Projects, owner of DT Craft & Design, and has been privileged to write the technical features and design for Simply Knitting for over three years.  She has also produced a range of knitwear patterns for Artesano.

Classes with Debbie - all classes are taking place on the 4th floor of the Cottrell Building

Debbie is kindly providing all materials for her workshops.  The cost of these materials is included in your class fees.  Debbie will also be exhibiting at Ravelry weekend should you wish to purchase anything from her after your class.

Dyeing to knit – dyeing sock blanks

When: Wednesday, 9.30 - 12.30

Level: Beginner plus

Class Skills: Not required

What you will learn:

Cost: £40 (includes all materials)

Class Length: 3 hours

Minimum number of students: 8 Maximum number of students: 20

Please bring with you: Please wear old clothes and bring a pair of rubber gloves.  If you have long hair, make sure you tie it up beforehand.

Dyeing to knit – an intro to self-patterning yarns

When: Thursday, 9.30 - 5.00

Level: Beginner plus (some previous dyeing experience advantageous but not required)

Class Length: 6 hours

Class skills: Proficient knitter.  This is not a beginner’s class!

Cost: £80 (includes all materials)

Minimum number of students: 8 Maximum number of students: 20
