Ewa Kuniczak

Ewa is an international textile artist  who specialises in all forms of handmade felt. She was born in Poland and, after the Second World War, settled in Britain with her parents. Having graduated from Sussex University with an Honours Degree in Art Education, she taught Art and Design in Schools and Colleges for 10 years before she became involved in the wonderful world of Textiles. By the time she completed a Postgraduate Diploma Course in Textile Art, she had discovered the even more amazing World of Felt. She became a founder member of the International Feltmakers Association, and for 10 years  was its Secretary and Editor of 'Echoes'.

She is now a freelance lecturer and tutor in Creative Textiles with groups, schools and colleges, and also runs community projects.  Her work has featured in many publications and on television, and she regularly exhibits throughout the UK and abroad. Her books include 'Start to Felt' and a huge range of self-published books on all areas of felting.

Painting with Fibres

Create a Character

Explore the fascinating sculpting techniques of Dry Needle Felting to make your a head for your own Character figure. It is lots of fun, and you will be amazed at what you can achieve in a short time.

Needle to Felt

An excellent introduction to dry and wet felting methods. This workshop is in two parts. In Part 1 AM, you will be able to make a picture, using dry Needle-felting Techniques, exploring Colour and Texture. In Part 2 PM, you will be able to wet felt the picture to produce a smooth felt of fine quality that you can be proud of.

Needle to Knit

Transform you knitting with added magical details using dry needle felting techniques. Favourite garments can be given a new look; old ones reinvented and rejuvenated. You will be amazed at what you can achieve in a short time, either by hand or with an embellisher!

When: Friday, 9.30 - 12.30

Please bring with you: Please bring some samples with you, either a knitted garment (or two) that need a new lease of life or some large tension/gauge swatches.  Felting materials will be provided by the tutor.

Homework: Please either bring sample garments or knit some large gauge/tension swatches.  You will not get anything out of the class if you don’t do so!
