Jane Harrisson is a CAD engineer by day, machine, hand-knitter and crocheter by night. She is fascinated by all things mechanical, which probably explains why the front bedroom has been taken over with knitting machines, a sewing machine and a circular sock knitting machine. You can find out more about Jane and her machine knitting on her blog: http://www.needlesofsteel.blogspot.com/ , where she has lots of useful links for new and experienced machine knitters alike. Classes with Jane will take place at an undecided location on campus! Yarn and machines are kindly being supplied by Jane.
Jane’s machine knitting classes will be different from all other classes in that there will be no more than 4 students per session. Each session will last 90 minutes. Class time slots are as follows:
Session 1: 9.30 - 11.00 Session 2: 11.15 - 12.45 Session 3: 2.00 - 3.30 Session 4: 3.45 - 5.15
There are six sessions for beginners, and six for intermediate machine knitters.
Jane taught me to machine knit (as well as crochet) and if I can do it - a complete technophobe- then anyone can! It really is a completely different skill from handknitting and well worth learning.
